Therapy For Geeks
Kate Reeves, MA, LMFT
Counseling for Geeks, Nerds, Socially Awkward Penguins, and those who love them.
Over my clinical career, I have worked with clients in clinical, residential, and educational settings. With couples, I utilize the techniques of Gottman Method Couples Therapy: I have completed the Level 3 Practicum Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I am passionate about this research-based method of helping couples achieve the relationship they desire.
I particularly enjoy helping couples and families struggling with the impact of OCD and anxiety disorders. I am a systemic therapist, meaning that I consider the person within the whole of their life. With clients, I consider the impacts and effects of relationships, roles, and interconnectedness in the larger world.
I serve on the board of OCD Washington, I am an adjunct faculty member of Seattle University, and I'm a senior lecturer for Antioch University Seattle. I'm an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Washington State Approved Supervisor. I am a California State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #163649 and Washington State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #LF60603397.
After earning my Master’s Degree in LGBT Affirmative Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, I relocated to Seattle in 2009. I enjoy building Lego, completing and constructing crosswords, knitting, and other grid-based hobbies.
I generally practice using CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), narrative therapy, and a solution-oriented style. This means that I want to make sure our work together helps you identify and achieve your goals.
